Puss & Mischief's

Catty Tales

And then God created a furry lump which for lack of a better name He called the Cat. He looked at His creation and shook His head. It wasn't exactly what He had in mind.
He held the thing up in the air and it hung limply from His fingers. He dropped it to the ground, and it spread out in all directions as flat as a pancake. And when He crossed the forelegs across the chest and folded the hind legs into a lotus position, that is exactly where the limbs stayed.
His curiosity piqued. He turned the body over, stretching it to almost twice its length. He rolled it into a small ball, twisting, bending, kneading it. The thing did not even open its eyes.
He rubbed His beard incredulously. He didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He knew of course that what He had just created was less than a miracle. But there was not time to make changes, not with the seven-day deadline just around the corner.
"Oh well." He shrugged. "You can't win them all." With not a moment to spare upon its arrival on earth, the cat curled up and went back to sleep.

- Introduction to "How to live with a neurotic cat" by Stephen Baker.

Hi everyone and welcome to our very special page.

Firstly, let us tell you a bit about ourselves.
Puss has been living with Mummy & Daddy for approximately 9 years and
Mischief for about 8 years. Since then we've had many adventures.
Puss even got stuck in the neighbour's roof for three days and couldn't get out.
Daddy had to go rescue her, much to the delight of the neighbour.

We live in a street called Falcon Close and there are many of our kind living there.
We also have a street bully - he is a black & white moggy who likes to visit
everyone else's house. We know that Mum & Dad would NEVER tolerate another
cat on their property, so we stand guard at the front and make sure he doesn't make it past.

During the day we do a good job of protecting the house, but at night Mum & Dad like us inside with them, so he sneaks past and comes right up the front window. World War III usually erupts, and many times we have nearly broken the front window trying to get him! Dad usually has to break it up - needless to say, he is never very impressed at our antics!

Just recently another black cat has come into our yard.
Mum & Dad have called him "Lord Robert" after the character from the movie "Elizabeth".
Lord Robert is a charmer; he charms his way into cat and human hearts alike, but then he becomes a big bully and picks fights with us.  We don't like him much now and tend to stay inside the house when he comes around.

Mum & Dad don't seems to like him much either as he wakes them up about 5am every morning with his constant meowing.  He even got brave one day and came into the house when Mum accidently left the back door open. She came out to go to the toilet and found him parading around the back sitting room.
Daddy is very angry and is thinking about getting a shotgun, but Mummy disagrees with that idea, so it looks like Lord Robert might be around for a while!

A little bit more about ourselves!
